Waxing & Tinting
Facial Waxing
Full facial and eyebrow waxing is designed to create a smooth, hair-free complexion, leaving your skin soft and radiant. On average, you'll be hair-free for at least 2-4 weeks, exact longevity relies on individual hair growth cycles.
Tinting
A semi-permanent tint is used to enhance, shape, and define the brows and lashes. This treatment adds color to your brows and lashes, giving them a fuller and more defined look. On average, tint lasts 2-4 weeks, exact longevity relies on individual hair growth cycles and after care.
BROW & LASH TINTING CARES
PRE CARE
Please arrive to your appointment with clean eyebrows/lashes free of cosmetics
Do not remove makeup with an oily make up remover prior to your appointment as this will prevent the treatment from being effective
Remove contact lenses before your appointment
Optional patch test for allergy should be done 24 to 48 hours before treatment. SkyesArtistry cannot be held responsible for any allergic reaction, therefore, patch test is recommended
POST CARE
Do not wet brows/lashes for 12 hours after treatment
Avoid rubbing brows/lashes
Do not apply cosmetics directly on brows/lashes for at least 24 hours
Avoid sunbathing for 24 hours, as this can cause the tint to fade
Oil based make up remover can cause the tint to fade quicker
Avoid saunas for at least 24 hours after your treatment
Exposure to the sun/UV lights for long periods can cause the tint to fade quicker
Understand that as hair goes through growth cycle the tinting effect will begin to fade within 2 to 4 weeks. It is recommended to re-tint every 30 days
WAXING HAIR REMOVAL CARES
PRE CARE
Hair growth needs to be at least 1/4” long to be removed. About the length of the average pinky nail
Do not exfoliate for at least 48 hours before your appointment
Avoid tweezing the brows before or after your appointment, if you have recently done so, wait 2-4 weeks before booking a wax
Refrain from the use of retinols, aha/bhas, glycolic or salicylic acid or any other form of topical chemical exfoliants for at least 2 weeks before your waxing appointment
Do not trim or pre-shape your eyebrows before your appointment, the fuller they are the better your wax will turn out
Do not book a waxing service for at least 10 days after a facial including any form of exfoliation
Bring picture examples of your desired brows if you'd like
POST CARE
Tiny red spots may appear for a few hours or some cases even days after treatment. This is caused because the hair has been removed from the root and it is very normal after treatment
Avoid heavy exercises or heavy sweating for 24 hours after treatment as it increases the chance of breakouts
If you have sensitive skin avoid any harsh soaps and exfoliation for 24 hours
Keep the skin clean and dry daily as the pores can fill easier with dirt and debris after a fresh wax, using a toner is recommended
Avoid heavy creams and ointments on the skin immediately after, unless instructed by your artist if treating any small areas
FAQ
Is waxing painful?
Waxing is a very personal experience and pain tolerance can not only vary from person to person, but the sensation is also dependent on what areas you decide to wax. The more often and more regularly you wax, the less you may find it hurts over time. If you have a low pain threshold, try taking ibuprofen at least 30 minutes before your appointment.
Will waxing make my hair grow back quicker?
No, neither shaving nor waxing will make your hair grow back thicker. The difference is that when you wax, your hair is pulled from the root, so you won't have the stubble you get when you shave. Bonus: typically hair that is consistently waxed actually grows back softer and finer.
How long will my wax last?
Your wax should last anywhere from three to four weeks, depending on the rate of your hair growth.
Should I get my brows & lashes tinted?
If you want to create that “natural beauty” look with minimal effort and save time by avoiding using brow pencils or mascara, tinting may be the best option for you.
Is tinting safe?
Yes, tinting is safe when a trained and licensed professional performs the treatment. SkyesArtistry uses high-quality, FDA-approved products and advises clients to conduct a patch test before the first treatment to ensure no allergic reactions.
Does tinting hurt?
No, tinting should not hurt but you may feel a little irritating from the fumes. If you have reactive skin in general, tinting may not be for you. A patch test is advisable if you're concerned about having an allergic reaction.
Can I wear mascara with lash tinting?
Yes, you can wear mascara but wait at least 24 hrs after tinting to allow the tint to set fully for long-lasting results and avoid oil-based makeup removers.
Can I tint my lashes if they are naturally very light or blonde?
Yes, lash tinting is especially beneficial for those with light or blonde lashes. It provides a more defined and noticeable look, making your eyes stand out without the need for daily mascara application.
